HOW I WORK
I am a firm believer that a photographer’s job starts before he or she even picks up the camera. It begins with getting to know the couple — who they are, what brought them together, and what matters most to them. That is why I start with a pre-wedding consultation. I want to present you with portraits that you will treasure for a lifetime and that starts with learning about you.
PAYMENT TERMS
A non-refundable retainer of 50% is required to confirm any booking of Donald Sexton Photography. Bookings are made on a strictly first come first served basis. Dates will only be secured upon receipt of the retainer and completed contract, The remaining balance is due two weeks prior to the wedding. Extra albums, prints, and services will not be placed until payment is received in full.
PRE-WEDDING
You likely have spent months planning for your wedding. Why wouldn’t you want your photographer to do the same? A pre-wedding consultation is essential to getting what you want from your photographer. During the consultation, we will sit down and discuss your photography expectation. We also discuss what packages best fit your needs.
WEDDING DAY
On your wedding day, you can anticipate that I will arrive promptly, eager to capture every moment. You can be reassured that I have familiarized myself with the wedding location and the wedding party. But most importantly, you can expect that I will be flexible, accommodating, and prepared, because I recognize that the some of the most prized photos come from the most candid moments.
I’m a documentary wedding photographer, which means that I capture life naturally, as it happens. I pride myself in capturing candid moments that are often missed by others. At the end of the day, I want to provide families with portraits that they are proud to hang on their walls — portraits that capture emotion and feeling. Every bride has an artistic vision for their wedding — whether big or small. I want to frame their vision and memorialize it for years to come.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK OUR DATE WITH YOU?
Bookings are on a first come, first serve basis — so the sooner, the better! We suggest booking at least six months prior to your date in order to ensure that your date is available.
DO YOU TRAVEL FOR WEDDINGS?
Absolutely! I love getting to experience new locations! It’s one of my favorite parts of the job! If you are planning a destination wedding, please keep in mind that there are additional costs for travel.
WHEN WILL OUR WEDDING IMAGES BE AVAILABLE?
Quality product requires quality time. That being said, I understand that many couples look forward to sharing their wedding day photos with others and prefer to do so in a timely fashion. Therefore, I work to provide your gallery within thirty days of your wedding.
WHICH PHOTOGRAPHER WILL BE SHOOTING MY WEDDING?
Donald Sexton is the principal photographer of Donald Sexton Photography. If you choose to have a second or third photographer, the photographer’s information will be provided at consultation.
WHAT IF IT RAINS/BAD WEATHER ON OUR WEDDING DAY?
Although I know most brides fear rain on their wedding day, you can be confident that I will make the most of any weather. In fact, rain can make for some very memorable and cherished photos.
DO YOU OFFER A PRIVATE ONLINE GALLERY FOR VIEWING?
Yes; all of our portrait packages come with access to a private online gallery for viewing. The gallery is available for one month. This allows for sufficient time to select your favorite photos. For your privacy, the gallery can be password protected.
